Department of Exceptional Children

The special education program of Crawford County Schools is based on the belief that every child has the potential to learn and succeed in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral aspects. The program is designed to develop essential skills such as independence, which will enable them to actively participate in their community.

Exceptional students require specially designed instruction to meet their unique needs. The curriculum, adapted to their ability, allows exceptional students to meet the educational requirements that apply to all students.

Our staff understands the needs of these students and provides support to help them meet the demands of our changing society. The majority of our students participate in general education with support from the staff through the co-teaching model and consultation services.
