I am honored to serve the students, faculty, staff, and community as Interim Superintendent of our great school system. Before taking on this role, I served as Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Human Resources for three years. As Assistant Superintendent, I had the opportunity to work with our talented faculty and staff to improve student services within the county such as transportation, nutrition, and technology.

Before coming to Crawford County Schools, I served as Principal of several schools in Bibb County. As principal, my team and I were able to partner with the community to increase parent and community engagement, increase student achievement, and improve student discipline. My desire was to improve each school’s culture and achievement while providing a safe environment for faculty, staff, and students.

I had the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Principal of Crawford County Elementary and Eagle’s Nest for six years under the leadership of the late Mr. Donald Spinks. In this role, I was able to connect with parents, students, and community members to help make our school a wonderful place to work and learn. I was able to implement a positive discipline program that improved our school’s culture by decreasing in-school and out-of-school suspensions which resulted in an increase in student achievement.

Throughout my educational journey, I always made sure students were provided an opportunity to have a voice in their education. I strongly believe that we can learn from our students, as well as teach them new concepts. I want to make sure our students in Crawford have an opportunity to share their experiences with me and provide suggestions on how we can move from good to great as we strive for excellence in all we do.

I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to improve student achievement. My team and I plan to accomplish this task by focusing on four areas for school year 2022-23. These areas are literacy, mathematics, technology, and PBIS. We will also work to improve the graduation rate from 70% to 80% within the next 4 years. We will meet this goal by instilling in our young scholars the importance of obtaining a high school diploma when they enter Pre-K.

As we unite to improve our school system, I ask that you spread the great accomplishments of our students and teachers. We have a team of great educators that want the best for our students by challenging them daily to strive for excellence. I commend our educators for always going beyond what is required to provide our students with an opportunity to achieve their maximum potential to be successful members of their community. I believe that we will Soar Like Eagles if we challenge each other to give our best and strive for excellence in all we do.
